You have read about the benefits of meditation for relaxation. Perhaps you have even tried mindfulness meditation on some of the popular meditation apps? Terms like vipassana and mindfulness are not totally unfamiliar, either?

If so, you may have realised that having guidance from an experienced teacher and the support of a community is essential for learning how to meditate and establishing a consistent meditation practice.

Recognizing that the real challenge lies not just in learning meditation but in maintaining it regularly, we have transformed our introductory meditation course—renowned for setting the highest standards in meditation training in our country and internationally over the past 25 years—into a comprehensive support program.

What Does the New Program Include?

1. Weekend Meditation Course with Teacher Žarko Andričević

This course provides a solid theoretical foundation and introduces you to the methods and practice of Chan meditation.
You will learn what Chan meditation is, why it is important to cultivate the mind and how to do it. 

Course Topics:

  • Proper meditation postures
  • Preparatory yoga exercises for sitting meditation 
  • Self-massage for harmonious flow of energy
  • How to relax
  • How to meditate on breath
  • How to calm the mind
  • Common experiences in meditation
  • The theory and stages of meditation practice
  • Meditation for beginners and advanced practitioners
  • Buddhist contemplation and development of insight
  • How to apply meditation in daily life

The course is held three times a year in the inspiring environment of the Chan Center or online via Zoom in real time. Two daily sessions combine theoretical lectures with practical exercises, offering a comprehensive meditation experience.


2. Weekly Meditation Group

Online Wednesday meetings provide continuous support, keep you motivated, and connect you with a supportive community. This is an opportunity for regular practice, asking questions, and sharing experiences.


3. Meditation Day with Teacher Karmen Mihalinec

Within one month of completing the weekend course, participants can join a day-long retreat. This retreat deepens your practice and offers insight into the essence of extended Chan meditation.


We aim to support you as you learn and lay the foundations for a healthier daily life. With community support and guided meditation sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of meditation theory, and joyfully and consistently integrate meditation into your everyday life.

Teacher Žarko Andričević
