Programs

Morality, meditation and wisdom

The only prerequisite for participating in our activities is a keen interest in exploring your own nature, a wish to take the rains of your life into your own hands and help yourself and those around you overcome discontent, restlessness and emotional turmoil. Step by step, you can shift the levers of inner change following our programs.

How to start

Public talks

Each month our teacher, chan master Žarko Andričević, gives a free public talk. Topics range from basic teachings of Buddhism and how to apply Chan (Zen) wisdom in everyday life, to practical advice on how to meditate. These talks can help you find inspiration for the path of inquiry and realization that Buddhism and meditation present.

Talks are held online. Three times per year in person, in Zagreb city center.

Following steps

Group meditation

All members who have completed the introductory meditation course, or have been previously introduced to Chan meditation, are invited to join our weekly online meditation group. It is a chance to talk with the teacher, get valuable advice on different aspects of practice and connect with the fellow practitioners on the path of spiritual inquiry.

Meditation retreats

When you feel ready, you can deepen your meditation practice by attending meditation retreats. Starting with one day and gradually progressing toward seven-day retreat, which is considered a formal initiation into Chan practice. From that point on you can consider yourself a practitioner of Chan.

Study

In order to reach beyond the words and directly perceive the nature of reality, we first need to hear, ponder upon, and understand the teaching. Such a process requires a structured study of Buddhadharma that teaches us how to examine the nature of our experiences, how we form them and how we can change them. Study outlines a map of the path.

Zenyoga

Practicing mindfulness in motion

Zenyoga is a specific type of yoga fully compatible with the practice of Chan — we call it meditation in motion!

It is the oldest school of yoga in Croatia – we have been teaching it for forty years now. Zenyoga is suitable for people of all ages and shapes — it does not strive for impossible postures but adapts itself to the specific conditions of each person.
